Fat Thursday at Agora Modiano

Fat Thursday -also known as Tsiknopempti in Greek- is a day that Thessaloniki celebrates properly: with loud music, drinks, dancing, and of course… lots of grilling! This year, Agora Modiano was part of this grand celebration after a long time, with an open party that started at 4 pm. In partnership with Street Outdoors, the Agora brought the Carnival spirit to the heart of the town with a spectacular eight-hour event.

From the Agora’s deck, the special stage hosted names like the Polyphonia Project from Mani, one of the well-kept secrets of the Greek electronic scene, who choose to take the audience on Balearic & Disco paths. C-Edits followed, known for his production and covers of various musical styles – from Disco to Tropical Rock and Breaks – that became his ticket to the other side of the Atlantic, as he has also collaborated with the New York label Wolf + Lamb. Finally, the event was closed by Jiles and Jose. The former is the Music Director of Street Outdoors, with DJ sets created for the dance floor featuring House, Disco, and Electro sounds. The latter is one of the co-creators of Street Outdoors, moving musically along the same spectrum as Jiles, and together they form the Street Outdoors Soundsystem.

At the same time, the Agora’s ground floor was moving to the rhythm of taste, as the celebration demanded: Thessaloniki’s number one gastronomic destination once again lived up to its reputation, hosting – and delighting – the discerning palates of those who visited it.
